Is all that spending on SEO wasted?

The Search Engine Journal recently reported that the number one spot on Google and Yahoo for "payday loans" searches belongs to.... the Federal Trade Commission!  I ran a search this morning, and the FTC is still at the top.  The page enjoying the top rank is: Payday Loans = Costly Cash.

Tools for the small lender -- VoIP

While a number of readers of this blog are from large or established payday lenders (like First Cash), others are small business owners or are looking to start a payday business.  This post is direct to those readers.

For small businesses or startups, the number one concern is cashflow management.  It's simple --  the better you manage your expenses, the more money you have to lend, and the more money you have to lend, the better your profit.  However, managing expenses can be difficult.  Payday loan businesses have a number of fixed expenses that can't be eliminated, including computer and software expenses, Teletrack or DPBureau expenses, salaries, telephone and Internet expenses, etc.  You can, however, reduce some of these expenses by shopping around.  One of the biggest cost savings (in relative terms) can be realized by switching your telephone service from a landbased phone to a Voice Over IP (VoIP) phone service.

One of the oldest and most technologically advanced services is Vonage.  With a Vonage plan, you can get unlimited calls in the US and Canada, plus a fax line and a number of other great features for under $30-50 a month.  No taxes, no extra fees, etc.  Compare this to a typical landline package and you save over $50-$300 / month if you make lots of calls.  This can add up fast.  The call quality and service is great, and installation is a breeze.

A coupon for a free month is below.
